Tasting Notes: lightly spiced apple chai

Description: This tea is similar to a lightly spiced apple chai. A spiced black tea with balanced notes of aromatic cinnamon, spicy clove, sweet cardamom, juicy apple, and hints of orange.

This versatile tea works well straight up, with honey, or milk and sugar. We love this tea as a chai latte with steamed milk and a hint of sweetener. A cozy black tea that is comforting and popular.

Ingredients: black tea, apple, orange, ginger, clove, cinnamon, cardamom

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-5 minutes

The apple flavor is subtle but really nice alongside the spice, and it makes a perfect afternoon cup. I've been brewing it a bit longer than usual to get that full chai kick.

The cinnamon and clove come through beautifully balanced, so it tastes like a cozy autumn afternoon without being too sweet. I steeped mine for about four minutes and the apple flavor stayed warming rather than tart. This is my new go-to for chilly evenings.
