Tasting Notes: brisk black tea with fruit

Description: Layers of fruit mingle with decaffeinated black tea. Strawberry and cranberry pop the most. This tea is a decaffeinated version of our Full Moon Fruit Tea. Excellent hot and iced, add some sweetener to elevate the fruity notes.

Our decaf teas are created using the CO2 decaffeination process. The advantage of this technique is that no chemical solvents are used to remove the caffeine. In this manner of decaffeination, naturally occurring CO2 is applied to the tea leaf in a circulation process which carefully uses high pressure and temperature to extract the caffeine. A very slight residue of caffeine will remain in the tea leaf, which is why we call them decaf teas rather than no caffeine teas. There will be a slight change in the character and flavor of the tea due to the decaffeination process, but the end result is an uncompromising cup of tea with no chemical overtones.

Please note: If you'd like a 100% naturally caffeine-free tea, we suggest that you try our large selection of no caffeine teas such as: herbal teas, rooibos teas, honeybush teas, and fruit tisanes.

Ingredients: decaffeinated black tea, strawberry, pomegranate, cranberry, raspberry, papaya, rose hips, safflower

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes

The strawberry comes through way more than I expected for a decaf, and it doesn't have that flat, watery taste most decafs get. I've been drinking it after dinner instead of regular black tea so it doesn't keep me up, and the cranberry keeps it from being too sweet.

I was honestly skeptical decaf could keep this much flavor, but the strawberry and cranberry really do pop against the brisk black tea base. I've been brewing it as an afternoon treat and it hits the spot without keeping me up at night.

I was skeptical that decaf could still taste this bold, but the black tea base keeps its briskness while the strawberry-cranberry layers stay sharp on the finish. Brews up a deep red cup that smells like a fruit bowl, perfect for evenings when I still want something with structure.
