Tasting Notes: creamy vanilla earl grey

Description:  A decaf earl grey with creamy vanilla notes. We've layered vanilla and bergamot with a smooth decaf black tea. The result is our most creamy vanilla earl grey!  If you enjoy our Earl Grey Crème, we think you'll love this one too. This tea is lovely on its own and takes milk and sugar very well.

Our decaf teas are created using the CO2 decaffeination process. The advantage of this technique is that no chemical solvents are used to remove the caffeine. In this manner of decaffeination, naturally occurring CO2 is applied to the tea leaf in a circulation process which carefully uses high pressure and temperature to extract the caffeine. A very slight residue of caffeine will remain in the tea leaf, which is why we call them decaf teas rather than no caffeine teas. There will be a slight change in the character and flavor of the tea due to the decaffeination process, but the end result is an uncompromising cup of tea with no chemical overtones.

Please note: If you'd like a 100% naturally caffeine-free tea, we suggest that you try our large selection of no caffeine teas such as: herbal teas, rooibos teas, honeybush teas, and fruit tisanes.

Ingredients: decaffeinated black tea, vanilla, cream flavor, bergamot, cornflowers

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes

The vanilla and bergamot balance perfectly against the smooth decaf base, so I don’t miss the caffeine at all. I’ve been brewing it every afternoon with a splash of milk and it’s become my cozy ritual.

The creamy vanilla note really comes through without overpowering the bergamot, and the decaf base lets me enjoy it after dinner without lying awake. I’ve already ordered a second pouch, it’s become my nightly ritual.

The decaf base is surprisingly smooth—no bitter aftertaste at all, which is rare for an evening tea. I've been brewing a cup after dinner and the creamy vanilla lingers just enough to feel indulgent without being sweet.
