Category: Decaf Black Tea

Tasting Notes: toffee, caramel, butterscotch

Description: Sweet notes of toffee, caramel, and butterscotch mingle with decaffeinated black tea. A dessert tea that is excellent with milk.

Fans of our Buttercream Pu'er Tea, Salted Caramel Oolong Tea, and Burnt Sugar Black Tea will love this one as well.

Our decaf teas are created using the CO2 decaffeination process. The advantage of this technique is that no chemical solvents are used to remove the caffeine. In this manner of decaffeination, naturally occurring CO2 is applied to the tea leaf in a circulation process which carefully uses high pressure and temperature to extract the caffeine. A very slight residue of caffeine will remain in the tea leaf, which is why we call them decaf teas rather than no caffeine teas. There will be a slight change in the character and flavor of the tea due to the decaffeination process, but the end result is an uncompromising cup of tea with no chemical overtones.

Please note: If you'd like a 100% naturally caffeine-free tea, we suggest that you try our large selection of no caffeine teas such as: herbal teas, rooibos teas, honeybush teas, and fruit tisanes.

Ingredients: decaffeinated black tea, caramel, vanilla, toffee natural flavoring

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes

Timothy ★★★★★

I've been trying to cut back on caffeine at night and this has become my go-to. The butterscotch note really comes through, and with a splash of milk it tastes almost like a dessert.

Robert ★★★★★

I was skeptical about a dessert tea working without caffeine, but this one nails it. The butterscotch comes through smooth and rich, and a splash of milk turns it into a cozy evening treat that doesn't keep me up.

Michael ★★★★★

This is my new after-dinner treat when I want something sweet without the caffeine keeping me up. It’s rich and dessert-like, and a splash of milk really brings out the caramel and toffee taste.
