The bergamot is way more pronounced than the standard earl grey I used to drink, almost floral, and it doesn't get bitter even when I forget the bag in my mug. Two cups in and I already ordered another box.
The Kenyan and Assam black teas give this a deep, malty backbone that holds up beautifully to milk, and the bergamot is bold without turning soapy. I’ve tried a lot of earl greys, and this is the first one that doesn’t get wimpy by the second steep—it stays rich and strong to the last drop.
Bergamot hits you right away, but the Assam keeps it from tasting thin or perfumey. I've been drinking it black every morning and the boldness actually holds up even after the cup cools.
